ACTIVITIES

Snorkeling/Boating Trips:   Snorkeling and boat tours to different reefs around the island can be arranged at Longtail Beach Resort reception. For private boating or snorkel trips you can also check with the local boat drivers at the fisherman’s platform next to Dolphin Bar.

Mini Golf: Mini golf is located at the entrance to Thongnaipan Yai and walking distance. A great date-night or family-fun experience in a tropical environment. Open daily until after dark.

Fishing: Longtail boats can be rented for private fishing trips when the weather is appropriate. See the fishermen’s platform next to Dolphin Beach Bar for current availability and daily rates or check Havana or Dreamland Resort for charter fishing tour availability. If you purchase or have your own gear, you can kayak, hand-line or rock fish right in and around TNP bays.

Kayaks: Kayaks can be rented by the hour or by the day. See resorts on the beach who offer this service. (Kayak distance one way to:
Nearby island 20 minutes, ThanSadet Beach 1.5 hours,  Bottle Beach 2 hrs)

Diving and Snorkeling: Diving trips and courses are available from TNP beach and usually go to Sail Rock or Ko Ma. Contact information is located at Dreamland Divers and H2O Scuba on the beach. Snorkelers can join on these trips as well. Best snorkeling is at Ko Ma or Hat Khom. See these dive shops for a Snorkel Day Trips.  You can also snorkel by yourself at the reef in front of Longtail Resort.

Marine Park: Ang Thong National Marine Park is worth a visit! Contact Longtail Beach Resort for current time schedule, prices and bookings. There are a couple boats and tours offered. The Orion Boat is more commercialized and leaves from Thongsala Pier with groups from all over the island.  Tours include transport, snorkeling, lunch, visiting at least 3 islands in the marine park. Kayaking costs a bit extra.

Yoga: Ask reception for updated yoga classes. There currently are none at time of writing.

Trekking/Hiking: Trekking is available on your own. Get a local and area map and take water!
You can go hiking by yourself to:
-Bottle Beach (2 hours)
-Than Sadet Beach and Waterfall. (1-1.5 hours) Follow the road on the side of Game bar and turn left.
PS...on the way... (It's worth the extra .5 hour to visit "Hide on High" view point near ThanSadet)
-Thong Prawet Waterfall & Wangthong Waterfalls (30-45 min.)
(Ask the locals where to find the trail beginnings)
-Thong Nai Pan Noi beach (40 min) via main road
-3 TNP Viewpoints. Walk up the hill behind the house and continue on trail to the left. (20-40 min)

Massage and Sauna: Longtail Beach Resort offers a beach front massage onsite, and has a sauna out back. Schedule an appointment as it can get busy. There are many talented massage therapists at the Spa. Try one or all… but tell them if you have pains or medical problems.

Motorbikes: We do not recommend taking motorbikes over the mountain to/from Thong Nai Pan unless you are an experienced rider.  If you choose to rent a motorbike, be aware that your passport will be kept for collateral damages. You will be charged very high prices for slight damage to the motorbike. Inspect the bike before you take it and document any slight scratches immediately.

NIGHT LIFE ON TNP

Siam Beach: Closest to the house, natural thatch bar, pillows and plants. Great beach front chill location and music. Good daytime or sunset beach bar with happy hour and occasional fire pit.

Flip Flop Pharmacy Bar: Close, on the beach, draft beer, pool table & big natural swings. Good for sunset drinks or late night party.

Siam House (Original Dolphin Bar owners) Now on the Pond: Near the end of the village by the school. Two-story open bar with tranquil chilled music and private pillowed salas in lush decorated gardens, decks perched over the lotus and lilly-pad pond. Entertaining to watch them feed the private pond of catfish. Worth a walk for breakfast, chilled evening atmosphere, cocktails or clay pot BBQ once a week.

Game Bar: Nice, modern and comfortable wooden bar with pillows. Lots of friendly expats to chat up the good 'ol days. Good, late night bar offering sandwiches & coffee. Best chance for a dance party to break out here.
